PORTAL 2 CAST FULLThe first act of the show is full of moments taken straight from the game, and the cast did an admirable job of keeping these familiar scenes fresh, thanks largely in part to Thompson’s performance. The show opens with Chell (Patrice Bowler/Erin Mudry) coming out of stasis and meeting the lovably dumb AI Core Wheatley (Graeme Thompson) as he directs her through the game’s whimsical opening almost shot for shot. If you’re a fan of Portal, you were in comfortable territory. The show’s three-night run from January 30 to February 1 saw The Rio Theatre continually sold out, packed with costumed attendees and an audience that was clearly composed mainly of fans. While the stage adaptation was conceived and written by Geekenders artistic director Fairlith Harvey, who also plays the malevolent computer GLaDOS, the production was co-directed by Davin Reid and Jessica Mayhew, who had the unenviable task of adapting a video game that features a silent protagonist into a full 15-song stage musical.ĭespite the difficult task, the cast and crew were welcomed by a hungry and receptive audience who echoed every line, erupted at each reference, and seemed to almost know the lyrics to songs they’d never heard. It’s been over two years since then, and so local theatre group The Geekenders decided to make something for Portal’s hungry audience by adapting Portal 2 into an unlicensed musical that sees the game’s plot, characters, and humour redone for the stage. PORTAL 2 CAST SERIESThe Portal series of video games are two of the most culturally lasting games made in the last decade. This game has 2 endings, one being the normal ending, where the announcer takes the player back to the long term human storage vault, where later on they will be "awoken when the time comes to use their special abilities to save this facility from it's impending doom." In the other ending, when the player decides to avoid being taken to the long term human storage vault and change their direction, the facility loses power, and the player is taken to the elevator to the surface. The present is displayed as the current clean Enrichment Center and the future is displayed as the Overgrown Aperture Science Enrichment Center.Įverything in the present will be in the same place in the future although anything in the future can be changed independently allowing you to take the future cube into the present then sending it back by moving the present cube. (You can go between each by using the green Time Portal). Each test camber has two versions: the present, and the future. In Portal Reloaded you control Test Subject who is tasked with completing twenty-five new test chambers. The game was released on Apand is on Valve's online delivery platform Steam for anyone who owns Portal 2.
